‘Factually Incorrect’: Pakistani Actor Adnan Siddiqui Calls Out Sidharth Malhotra’s Mission Majnu!

Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra’s latest outing Mission Majnu has opened to positive reviews. The film is doing great on the digital platform. But seems like Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui is miffed with the makers for showing their country incorrectly in the movie.  Expressing his disappointment on the same, Siddiqui recently slammed ‘Mission Majnu’.

Taking to his social media handle, Adnan said that Bollywood directors should ‘hire good researchers’ to study Pakistanis before making a film. He called the film ‘distasteful’ and ‘factually incorrect’.

Adnan calls out Mission Majnu

Adnan began his rant by asking how much misrepresentation is too much misrepresentation. The actor said that Bollywood has a lot of money. So, they should hire some good researchers to do homework on Pakistanis or ask him for help instead. Giving some notes, he stated, ‘no, we don’t wear skull caps, surma, tawiz; we don’t ask janab about their mijaz; we don’t go around throwing adaab.’

Adnan tags Mission Majnu ‘distasteful and factually incorrect’

Calling the spy-thriller ‘distasteful & factually incorrect’, Adnan mentioned how the hero’s saviour complex would’ve emphasized if the villain was shown at par. ‘Poor story, poorer execution, poorest research. Next time, visit us. We are good hosts. Will show you how we look like, dress up and live,’ he quoted.

‘Mission Majnu’ is set in 1970s. It shows one of the most covert operations of India. The film is helmed by Shantanu Bagchi and stars Sidharth Malhotra, Rashmika Mandanna, Kumud Mishra, Sharib Hashmi, and Zakir Hussain in prominent roles. After much delay, the movie released online on January 20. In India, the film faced backlash as the introductory scene in the film showed wrong map of India. Some parts of Ladakh have been depicted in China while some parts of Jammu and Kashmir are shown in Pakistan.
