Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni Will Star In Film Adaptation Of Colleen Hoover’s Novel ‘It Ends With Us’

In a film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling romance novel It Ends With Us, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni will star.

Justin Baldoni and his collaborator Andrew Calof are scheduled to executive produce and direct the adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s It Ends With Us under their Wayfarer Studios banner.

Aside from Steve Sarowitz and Colleen Hoover, Blake Lively will also serve as the executive producer of this project.

Christy Hall will write the screenplay for the film as well as produce it. Wayfarer’s Jamey Heath and Saks Picture Company’s Alex Saks will produce the film.

Justin Baldoni became interested in Colleen Hoover’s book in 2019 and has been seeking to acquire the rights to it ever since. A Sony adaptation of the movie is also being developed by Baldoni and Wayfarer.

Blake Lively made her directing debut with Taylor Swift’s I Bet You Think About Me music video last year, and she is scheduled to make her feature with the adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s graphic novel Seconds, the director makes his directorial debut.

Justin Baldoni, on the other side, Baldoni is most known for his leading role on the CW’s Jane the Virgin, but he has since moved more behind the camera, Films such as Clouds and Five Feet Apart were directed and produced by him. His podcast, The Man Enough Podcast, has been awarded a Webby for its exploration of masculinity’s complexities.

He has recently added author to his resume, having written his first book, Man Enough: Undefining My Masculinity in 2021, and his most recent book, Boys Will Be Human, which is a New York Times bestseller.

It Ends With Us’ storyline follows Lily, a small-town girl who moves to Boston to start her own business. When Lily and neurosurgeon Ryle meet on the patio one fateful night, sparks quickly fly. However, Ryle’s resistance to the connection significantly hinders their relationship in the beginning.

She couldn’t help but wonder what made Ryle the way he was, so she became an exception to his dating policy.

With the new intense connection, Lily recalls her first love and the history she left behind – Atlas Corrigan. Ryle and Lily’s new relationship is jeopardised when Atlas Corrigan emerges unexpectedly in her life.

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover was published in 2016, but it became extremely famous in 2021. With almost 20 million volumes sold, Hoover became one of the best selling writers in 2022.
