Aishwariya Rai Speaks About Nandani In ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ And ‘Ponniyin Selvan’; Read On!

In the 1999 romantic musical Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, in which she played Nandini opposite Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan enthralled the spectators with her exceptional acting abilities and stunning good looks.

For the two-part Ponniyin Selvan movie by Mani Ratnam, Aishwarya has reprised her role as Nandini. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was questioned about her particular connection to the moniker Namdini during a press event for Ponniyin Selvan: II.

What a coincidence, she said when discussing it. Isn’t that amazing? In Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, even Nandini was incredibly unforgettable. She has left a lasting impression on people, and I’m very grateful that I also got to play Nandini at that time. She had stayed unique to the crowd and, naturally, to me. That was Sanjay Bhansali, and today I got to play Nandini in Ponniyin Selvan for my Mani Garu. Being able to portray such powerful women who are complex and have a profound impact on the lives of so many other women is truly a blessing. There is a relatability, and I am so, very appreciative.

This occurs just a few days after Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s appearance at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) fashion extravaganza in Mumbai (separately, of course) drove their fans into a frenzy. It was evident enough to excite their admirers that they were both living in the same house. Salman showed up there by himself, while Aishwarya arrived with her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.

Aishwarya stated that she was able to reprise her role as Nandini due to Mani Ratnam. She described getting the opportunity to portray such a strong woman on TV as a blessing. She declared that if Mani Ratnam ever makes her an offer, she will always accept it.

It’s a natural yes, remarked Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Jawab ha hi hoga, jab bhi poochenge. That is unavoidable. Ab ise guru bhakti, shraddha, kritagyata, and pyaar kahe. You can give it any name you like.
