Vasishta Simha, renowned for his role in the blockbuster KGF, is all set to reprise his character of Tirupati in the upcoming sequel to the 2022 Telugu film Odela Railway Station. The actor, who shared the screen with Heba Patel in the first instalment, will now be paired with leading South actress Tamannaah Bhatia in the sequel. Let’s delve into more details about the film.
In Odela 2, Vasishta Simha will once again portray the character of Tirupati, a dhobi, marking his second stint in the role. The film, which serves as a sequel to the crime-thriller Odela Railway Station released in 2022, recently commenced shooting in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Reports suggest that a crucial schedule of the film is currently underway on the river Ganga ghats.
Directed by Ashok Teja, who also helmed the original, Odela 2 features Vasishta Simha, Tamannaah Bhatia and Heba Patel in pivotal roles. D Madu is producing the film under the banners of Madhu Creations and Sampath Nandi Teamworks. The music composition is handled by Ajaneesh Loknath, while Soundararajan is responsible for cinematography.
The original film, titled Odela Railway Station, hit screens on August 26, 2022. Directed by Ashok Teja, it starred Hebah Patel, Vasishta Simha, Pujita Ponnada and Sai Ronak in significant roles. Produced by K K Radhamohan under the banner of Sri Sathya Sai Arts, the film marked the Telugu cinema debut of Vasishta Simha. Anup Rubens composed the music for the original film.
Vasishta Simha’s last appearance as a lead was in the Kannada film Yadha Yadha Hi, released in 2023. Directed by Ashok Teja, the film also featured Hariprriya and Dignath, alongside Avinash, Swathi and others. Produced by Rajesh Agarwal under the banner of Guys and Dolls Creations, the film showcased Vasishta’s versatility beyond his iconic role in the KGF series, where he portrayed Kamal, one of the antagonists.
