The White Lotus 3: Mike White Teases ‘Longer, Bigger, Crazier’ Storyline

In an interaction with Entertainment Weekly, The White Lotus creator Mike White revealed that season 3 will be a full package of entertainment. “I’m super excited about the content of the season,” he said.
The White Lotus — an American dark comedy-drama anthology television series created by Mike White received rave reviews upon its release on HBO in 2021. The story revolves around the dark secrets harboured by a group of guests at a resort and the local staff there that are unveiled over one week in surprising twists and turns. After the immense popularity of season 1 and season 2, the makers are back with the third installment of The White Lotus. In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly, Mike White confirmed that season 3 will be a “supersized” version, guaranteeing a full package of entertainment.
“It’s going to be a supersized White Lotus. It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don’t know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that’s a good thing. I’m super excited about the content of the season,” revealed Mike White. Although The White Lotus 3 is definitely on the horizon, the show’s creator would only start the filming process in 2025. Mike shared that the vacation drama series will go on floors “at the beginning of the year,” following the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike and the WGA strike.
In the same interaction, Mike White added that the production process of The White Lotus might get delayed because of the strike. According to the Entertainment Weekly report, the upcoming season will be filmed in Thailand. While the makers are quite tight-lipped about the cast members, it is confirmed that actress Natasha Rothwell who impressed us with her performance as Belinda in The White Lotus season 1 will be reprising her role in the third part too.
The makers of The White Lotus previously stated that there was a possibility of bringing some of the Season 1 and Season 2 characters under the same roof including wealthy tech CFO Nicole Mossbacher played by actress Connie Britton and Greg played by Jon Gries. Although nothing is confirmed yet, Mike White assured, “If the show goes on for a couple of seasons, it would be fun to have an all-star season.”
At the end of the Season 2 finale of The White Lotus on December 11, 2022, Mike White revealed that while the first segment centred around “money” and the second was about “sex”, the third season might be focused on “a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality”. Other details are currently under wraps.
