Although the mature themes polarised some critics, the movie, which revolved around mysterious deaths in a village, generally received positive reviews and emerged successful with record viewership. This prompted the makers to make a sequel to the film and this time opted for a theatrical release, owing to the success of the first part.

Like its predecessor, Maa Oori Polimera 2 centres on occult practices. The audience was impressed by the movie’s turns and twists. The movie also has important parts played by Satyam Rajesh, Kamakshi Bhaskar, Getup Seenu, Baladitya, Ravi Varma and Rakendu Mouli.
Jangaiah (Baladitya) departs from the village of Jastipalli in search of his brother Komuraiah (Satyam Rajesh), who has gone missing. Inspector Ravindra Naik (Rakendu Mouli) is assigned to investigate the mysterious deaths taking place in the village at the same time. At the same time, a team from the Department of Archaeology expresses a strong desire to look into a village temple that has been abandoned. All these subplots intertwine together to form a gripping narrative.
