Siddharth was recently promoting his movie ‘Chikku’ in Bengaluru when members of an alleged pro-Kannada group disrupted the event and created a ruckus.

Days after Siddharth’s ‘Chikku’ event in Bengaluru was forced to cancel, the actor has now said that the incident was ‘disappointing’. During a recent press conference, Siddharth mentioned that ‘nobody had any legal right’ to disrupt his film’s event and clarified that there was no Bandh on the day when the event was being held.

“There was no bandh on September 28. We booked and paid money for a private auditorium to hold our press conference that day. All of a sudden, a few people came inside, and you all saw what happened there after that. Many lies were being spread that, for our selfish interests, we kept the press conference on a day when there was a bandh in Bengaluru. Nothing like that happened. There was no bandh that day. The bandh happened the next day. Nobody had any legal reason to stop my work that day. We truly did not do anything wrong,” Siddharth said as quoted by India Today.

“The reason why I didn’t speak about that incident until now is because, instead of talking about ‘Chithha’, which is one of the best films I have worked on in my life, you are asking me about unrelated things as your first question. I’m very disappointed because of that. I’m speaking about it today since this is a press conference and all of you asked me about it,” the actor added.

Siddharth was recently promoting his movie ‘Chikku’ in Bengaluru when members of an alleged pro-Kannada group disrupted the event and created a ruckus. Reportedly, they stopped the event midway and asked the actor to cancel it. As reported by the news agency ANI, the members told Siddharth that it is not the ‘right time’ for him to promote his movie as Karnataka is battling over the Cauvery water with Tamil Nadu. As a result, even before Siddharth could address the media and talk about his films, he had to walk out of the press conference.
