Shaitaan Box Office Collection Day 16: Ajay Devgn’s Film Gears Up For An Excellent Extended Holi Weekend!
There may have been movies released before, alongside or after it, but Shaitaan still stays on to be the first choice of the audiences. In fact this is one film which is holding fort in theatres and ensuring that exhibitors and distributors have something to cheer about on a daily basis. In fact, with the manner in which the film is currently finding audiences currently, it won’t be surprising if it stays on to be a hot favourite right till Eid releases Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan as well, though in all fairness, at least next week’s release Crew should open well.
Coming to Shaitaan, the film jumped quite huge from Friday numbers of 2.85 crores* to 5 crores* on Sunday. This is really big because it’s almost the same as the combined collections of the new releases, which are in their first weekend. Last weekend too, it was seen that the collections had jumped almost 80% from Friday to Saturday, and now the trend of big growth is pretty much continuing in the third weekend too. In fact, during the first two weekends, Sunday growth was relatively muted, but this weekend it should be better since tomorrow is a partial holiday of Holi.
The Ajay Devgn and Madhavan starrer has now reached 124.50 crores*, which is a terrific score, and to think of it, two big days (Sunday and Monday) are still left. That would further ensure that almost 9-10 crores more come in, which means 135 crores would be surpassed rather soon. In a year which has seen only one film go past the 200 crores mark (Fighter), it’s heartening that a much lesser budgeted Shaitaan will go past the 150 crores mark with ease and then add some more as well in its lifetime run.
