Popular Malayalam film producer PV Gangadharan passed away due to age-related ailments.

Popular Malayalam film producer PV Gangadharan passed away on Friday, October 13. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Kozhikode where he was reportedly admitted due to age-related ailments. He was 80.

Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle and shared the unfortunate news of the producer’s death. “#PVGangadharan (80) the veteran #Malayalam movie producer, one of the founders of KTC group and board member of #Mathrubhumi passed away in Kozhikode. PVG as he was called has produced films under #GrihalakshmiProductions and won State & National film awards and were huge commercial hits. His daughters are now producing under the banner @Scube_films,” he wrote. Check out his post here:

Film producer KT Kunjumon also took to his X handle and shared that he is ‘shocked’ to know about PV Gangadharan’s death. “Very much shocking to hear the sad demise of my dearest friend the veteran producer Shree.Pv.Gangadharan. Rest in peace my dear..Prayers (sic),” he wrote.

PV Gangadharan produced several films including Angadi (1980), Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha (1989), Kattathe Kilikkoodu (1983), Vartha (1986), Adhwaytham (1992), Kaanaakkinaavu (1996), Thooval Kottaram (1996), Ennu Swantham Janakikutty (1998), Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal (2000), Achuvinte Amma (2005) and Notebook (2006) among others. His last film was Janaki Jane which was released earlier this year.
