My Name is Gabriel has confirmed the participation of renowned actors including Ji Chang Wook, Park Bo Gum, Jennie and Yeom Hye Ran, as well as entertainers Park Myung Soo and Hong Jin Kyung.
A new and exciting variety show is currently in the works, promising a star-studded lineup and a unique type of content for viewers. The upcoming JTBC program, titled My Name is Gabriel, has confirmed the participation of renowned actors including Ji Chang Wook, Park Bo Gum, Yeom Hye Ran, as well as entertainers Park Myung Soo and Hong Jin Kyung. This ensemble cast is set to take on a unique journey, experiencing the lives of others abroad, under the direction of PD Kim Tae Ho, known for the immensely popular MBC program Infinite Challenge.
In response to the circulating reports, a representative of JTBC shared some insights, saying, “Actors Yeom Hye Ran, Ji Chang Wook, and Park Bo Gum along with entertainers Park Myung Soo and Hong Jin Kyung will star on PD (producing director) Kim Tae Ho’s new variety show ‘My Name is Gabriel’.” This revelation has sparked immense curiosity and anticipation among fans eager to see their favourite stars in a fresh and exciting project.
From the confirmed list of stars, the inclusion of Park Bo Gum has been gaining attention as the actor is not often seen in variety shows.
Previously, he has garnered acclaim for his versatile roles in both film and television, including notable ones such as a psychopathic lawyer in Hello Monster (2015), a player in Reply 1988 (2015–2016), a prince in Love in the Moonlight (2016), and a struggling model in Record of Youth (2020).
Park has also been the youngest artist to be named Gallup Korea’s Television Actor of the Year. He also became the first actor to top the Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list.
Apart from him, there’s another buzz about the upcoming show casting K-pop sensation and Blackpink member Jennie. Currently impressing audiences with her acting in another variety show titled Apartment 404, Jennie is reportedly also in talks to join My Name is Gabriel. Yet, JTBC has remained cautious, saying, “Jennie’s appearance is yet to be confirmed,” as reported by Soompi, leaving fans on the edge of their seats awaiting further updates.
My Name is Gabriel promises to be a delightful blend of entertainment and cultural exploration. The show’s premise, which involves the cast immersing themselves in other people’s lives, is a concept that is both intriguing and promising. The cast of the show will accept the challenge of giving like a non-celebrity for a specific period of time. It is reportedly similar to the unique concept of The Lives of Others on MBC’s entertainment show Infinite Challenge, which was previously directed by producer Kim Tae-ho.
With filming scheduled to commence in early March and the premiere set for June, audiences can expect an immersive viewing experience.
