Supernatural + Comedy + #Ramayan… #NayyiNavelli doesn’t follow the predictable horror-comedy template… The humour doesn’t quite land, but the #Ramayan portions are a big plus, along with #YamiGautamDhar’s performance. Final word? The desi tadka, coupled with the #Ramayan angle, gives #NayyiNavelli an edge… The film could spring a pleasant surprise if the devotional angle strikes a chord with audiences.

Himanshu Sharma has written a story which is hotchpotch and not only unconvincing but also boring. Divy Nidhi Sharma’s screenplay is childish, dull and far from entertaining. The reference to the kaal sheel stone, which should’ve evoked excitement among the audience, fails to evoke any kind of emotions. The references to Lord Rama and Ravana also leave the viewers unconcerned so much so that they quite alienate themselves from the unfolding drama. On the whole, Nayyi Navelli is a poor fare and will, therefore, flop at the ticket windows.

Not unless you believe that the intervention of a daayan is the answer to the workaday miseries that are heaped upon women. That is the problem with the film: its flights of fancy are so stretched that they never quite stick the landing.

A disclaimer is safely in place to divest the film from the epic’s traditionally acknowledged source-material, but no one warns us the extent to which it will become an exercise in patience. The feminist angle, which gave the film its initial fillip, is forgotten, replaced by an unwatchable mess

At its heart, Nayyi Navelli has an appealing idea. It has a promising lead performance and a supporting actor who knows how to make a scene work. But a good premise can only take a film so far. The first half makes you curious about where the story is headed; the second half makes you wish it had found a more convincing way to get there.

We watched it so you could save yourself the trouble. Nayyi Navelli fails to leave a lasting impression, offering neither the scares of a horror film nor the laughs of a comedy. The movie can cost you a ticket, popcorn and headache medicine.

A different climax could have helped preserve the film’s original appeal without changing its central idea. Instead, the familiar Ram-Ravan conflict makes the conclusion easy to anticipate, particularly with Dussehra in the picture. ‘Nayi Navelli’ has enough comic moments to keep you entertained, but its mythology-heavy second half and predictable finish leave you wishing the filmmakers had trusted their original idea a little more.

Nayyi Navelli delivers the perfect Dusshera film! It is a refreshing and soulful cinematic experience that successfully bridges everyday family drama with deeply rooted Indian mythology. While it occasionally asks the viewer to prioritize thematic symbolism over grounded logic, the film’s ambition pays off in dividends. Driven by Yami Gautam’s commanding, multi-layered performance and capped off by a grand, emotionally satisfying Dussehra finale, this Ramayan-inspired tale leaves you with a genuine feeling of divine awe. It is a unique, heartwarming, and thoroughly engaging watch that deserves a spot on your watchlist.
