Mohanlal And Nayanthara To Join Vishnu Manchu’s Highly Anticipated Kannappa: Reports

Telugu actor Vishnu Manchu’s highly anticipated pan-India movie, Kannappa, has been creating a lot of buzz among cinema enthusiasts. Earlier, reports hinting at Prabhas and Jr NTR being roped in to play significant roles in the film made rounds on social media. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, known for his Maha Bharatham series, the film’s stellar star cast is the talk of the town. Now, in a surprising twist, the makers have also got Mohanlal and Nayanthara on board to play a couple of pivotal roles in the movie.

If the reports are anything to go by, Nayanthara will be playing the role of Parvati opposite Prabhas who will be essaying the character of Lord Shiva. Anticipation is high with the recent development suggesting that Mohanlal would also make a cameo appearance in the film. However, his role in the film has been kept under wraps to keep the buzz intact.

It needs to be noted that Nupur Sanon was speculated to be the female lead in the film Kannappa. She was also spotted at the film’s inauguration ceremony at Srikalahasti. Later, Vishnu Manchu, in a tweet, confirmed that Nupur would not be part of the upcoming film due to date issues.

Earlier, with Jr. NTR’s inclusion, the prospect of two superstars coming together ignited fans’ dreams of cinematic grandeur. Meanwhile, the movie’s auspicious pooja ceremony was organized on August 18, and the film has gone on floors in New Zealand.

Vishnu Manchu dropped a tweet a few days ago and confirmed that the filming has begun. Sharing that Kanappa was his dream project and he has been waiting to work on it for the last seven years, the Ginna actor, wrote, “Today, I stand in awe as the adventure of a lifetime unfolds in the picturesque landscapes of New Zealand, as we commence the shooting of ‘Kannappa.’ This dream has been seven years in the making, and its realization is a testament to the divine blessings of Lord Shiva and Parvathi Devi.”

The screenplay of Kannappa has been penned by Sai Madhav Burra and Paruchuri Gopala Krishna. The film is being produced under the banner of Ava Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory.
