Malayalam Film Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey Fame Director Vipin Das Turns Producer-writer
Vipin Das will be next directing Guruvayur Ambala Nadayil.
On Tuesday, Vipin Das dropped the poster of Vaazha- Biopic Of A Billion Boys on his social media handle to announce his first production venture.
The Malayalam film titled Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, despite being made on a small budget, turned out to be a blockbuster which surprised everyone. The film released in 2022 starred Basil Joseph and Hridayam fame Darshana Rajendran in the lead roles and was directed by Vipin Das. The satirical movie was based on domestic violence against women.
Now, the director of the film is turning producer and writer for his next, Vaazha- Biopic Of A Billion Boys. On Tuesday, Vipin Das dropped the poster of Vaazha on his social media handle to announce his first production venture. Sharing the poster, he wrote, “I am delighted to launch my first production venture to create good & experimental movies under my banner WBTS PRODUCTIONS. Also joining hands with Imagin Cinemas.”
Directed by Anand Menen, the film will be produced by Vipin Das’ banner WBTS Productions in collaboration with Imagin Cinemas. The production is headed by Harris Desom, PB Anish and Adarsh Narayan. The upcoming film will feature a bunch of new faces who received immense fame through their videos on social media. They include Saaf Bros, Amith Mohan Rajeswari, Hashir, Ajin Joy, Vinayak, Alan bin Siraj, Anuraj OB, Anu and Joemon Jyothir in the lead roles apart from the familiar faces like Romancham-fame Siju Sunny, Azees Nedumangadu, Kottayam Nazeer and Noby Marcose.
Besides Vaazha, Vipin Das also has another project in his kitty. He will be directing Guruvayur Ambala Nadayil, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph in the prominent roles. Owing to the lead actor’s busy schedule, the film is currently on halt.
Meanwhile, he is also speculated to direct the Hindi remake of Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey. Earlier in March, reports emerged suggesting that the Dangal actress Fatima Sana Shaikh will reprise the role of Darshana Rajendran in the Hindi version and it will be bankrolled by Aamir Khan Productions. The director had also dropped a picture with the actress, thereby fuelling the speculations around the Hindi remake of the blockbuster film.
