Kannada Singer Ramesh Lamani Calls Dr Rajkumar His Biggest Inspiration
Ramesh was a runner-up at Zee Saregamapa Kannada.
Ramesh Lamani said that he became a singer after listening to the songs of the late Kannada star Dr Rajkumar.
Singer Ramesh Lamani couldn’t win the Zee Saregamapa Kannada, but still shot to fame after becoming the runner-up. In an exclusive interview with News-18 Kannada digital, Ramesh Lamani said that he became a singer after listening to the songs of the late Kannada star Dr Rajkumar. He remembered that his father couldn’t afford to send him to school beyond the fourth class because of financial issues. According to Ramesh, his father decided to help him by bringing a tape at home so that he could listen to music. At this point, a song from Dr Rajkumar’s film was released. The Zee Saregamapa runner-up got his first lesson in singing by listening to this track. Then he aspired to be selected in an audition. Ramesh Lamani’s life took a fortunate turn when he was selected in the auditions of the Zee Saregamapa Kannada. He attributed this accomplishment to Dr Rajkumar’s blessings.
Ramesh Lamani also revealed that it was not easy to sing the renditions ofDr Rajkumar’s songs, but his mentor Suchetan helped him to gain a grip on the tracks. The runner-up said he chose three tracks from Dr Rajkumar’s films for his performance in the auditions. These tracks are Megha Banthu Megha (Mannina Doni), Manikya Veena (Kaviratna Kalidasa), and Naadamaya E Lokavella (Jeevana Chaitra).
Ramesh Lamani’s respect for the legendary actor can be known by how he visited the grave of Dr Rajkumar before singing the tracks of his films.
Ramesh Lamani hails from the Majjur village of Shirhatti Taluka of Gadag district, Karnataka. Majjur village is located just 9 km from Shirhatti Taluka. He said that he feels happy to receive love and admiration from a wider section of the television audience. He also feels happy while indulging in the hassle-free environment of television work.
His journey is said to serve as a motivation for budding singers; especially those who have no access to proper guidance and figured it all out on their own.
