In his memoir, Perry recounted, “I sent her three dozen red roses with a card that read: ‘The only thing more exciting than the prospect of you doing the show is that I finally have an excuse to send you flowers.’” He expressed his excitement, noting that on certain nights, he would be at a party engaged in a flirtatious exchange with an attractive woman, only to cut the conversation short and rush home to check if a new fax had arrived.
