On November 14, Chang Wook’s agency announced that they received an offer and are considering it positively, regarding his appearance in the new series Bulk.

Korean actor Ji Chang Wook is set to take on the lead role in the forthcoming eight-episode OTT crime series Bulk, as reported by OSEN. The development comes after singer and actor Cha Eun Woo withdrew from the project due to scheduling conflicts. The cast reportedly includes Jo Woo Jin, Ha Yoon Kyung, and BIBI. The filming is scheduled to begin in late November and will take place over a six-month period, reports Naver TV Entertainment.

On November 14, Chang Wook’s agency Spring Company announced to Newsen that they had “received an offer and are considering it positively.”

The series delves into a crime narrative involving a collaborative team of police, troubleshooters, and prosecutors uniting to pursue the mysterious Black Connection in the vibrant setting of Gangnam Night. This is reportedly the first series presented by Man Pictures, which also produced popular movies like New World, Berlin, and Dwarf, reports Naver TV Entertainment.

Reports further explain that if Ji Chang Wook finalises his role, he will depict a shadowy troubleshooter operating beneath Gangnam’s glamorous surface, showcasing his versatility, particularly in intense fighting scenes against dangerous criminals.

Initially, Cha Eun Woo was intended to play the central character leading the charge against underworld criminals alongside two collaborators. However, on March 20, 2023, the ASTRO member declined the offer.

Apart from Ji Chang Wook, actor Jo Woo Jin takes on the role of a seasoned detective, Ha Yoon Kyung assumes the character of a prosecutor, and singer BIBI (Kim Hyeong-seo), known for an impressive performance in Hwaran, also makes an appearance, Naver TV reports.

Ji Chang Wook has recently garnered praise for his standout performance in Disney’s The Worst Evil. Additionally, he is set to feature in JTBC’s upcoming Saturday-Sunday drama Welcome to Samdal-ri, TV series Queen Woo, and the movie Revolver. His commitment extends to being part of the cast for the blockbuster drama Sculpture City.

The series, penned by the writer of Taxi Driver, explores a tale of vengeful retribution, tracing a man’s journey from an ordinary life to a dark world manipulated systematically after a traumatic experience. Directed by Kim Chang Joo, known for works like Outgoing Restricted and Amazon Life, this CJ ENM production boasts a substantial budget of 35 billion KRW.
