There is no stopping the Gadar 2 [2023] juggernaut. Riding on the patriotic wave, Gadar 2 continues to storm the domestic box office. The Sunny Deol-starrer action, family, patriotic drama looks set to cross Rs400 crore nett in a day or two. The film bagged a staggering Rs89 crore nett in its second weekend beating Baahubali – The Conclusion [2017] that made Rs79 crore nett in the same period, as reported by BoxofficeIndia.com.
Gadar 2 picked up Rs20, Rs30, and Rs39 crore over its second weekend . The Monday collection is said to be around Rs14 crore nett thus taking its domestic box office total to around Rs385 crore nett, surpassing the Rs374.53 crore nett of Aamir Khan’s Dangal [2016].
Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan currently holds the record for the highest earning Bollywood film in India with Rs512 crore nett. However, questions still remain over how organic is this collection? There were reports of bulk buying of tickets by the Khan and producer YRF during Pathaan. Gadar 2 is said to have done something similar in its opening weekend. However, the craze for the Sunny Deol film is real.
Gadar 2 is likely to dominate the box office over the week, and the third weekend, at least in single screens. There will be some competition with few releases lined up this Friday. Prominent among them is Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl 2.
