Fighter Box Office 2nd Weekend (India): Sees Slight Jump On Sunday, Gets Close To 200 Cr Mark

Fighter saw a little jump in numbers on Sunday as 4 crore came in. Had this been at least 6 crore (compared to 11 crore that came in last Sunday) then the overall total would have looked much better. Also, it would have ensured that there is a larger quantum of audience through whom word of mouth will spread, and as a result, weekdays to follow would have been better as well. Right, the collections are just about okay, and hence weekdays will, at best, stay above the 1 crore mark right from Monday to Thursday.

That said, the film will benefit from the fact that this is an open fortnight ahead. While Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is running in parallel, there is no major release in the coming week. Moreover, there is also Valentine’s Day in between and that works as a mini-holiday of sorts.

That said, it isn’t a romantic movie per see, which means the film which will actually benefit more is the Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon-starrer. Still, the Hrithik Roshan-led film will have much higher collections on Wednesday when compared to Tuesday, and that would be a bit of a push.

Director Siddharth Anand‘s action affair has missed entering the 200 Crore Club by a small margin, as the collections stand at 199 crore. Had there been a better Friday hold, then 200 crore would have been easily surpassed already. Nonetheless, that should happen today or, at maximum, tomorrow, and from there, whatever comes in would be added bonus.
