Director Shiladitya Bora’s Bhagwan Bharose starring Vinay Pathak gets acquired by Amrinder Gill for overseas distribution


Vinay Pathak starrer Bhagwan Bharose, Shiladitya Bora’s directorial debut feature film which recently won the Best Film Award at the 25th UK Asian Film Festival, London gets acquired by Canada based Rhythm Boyz backed by Punjabi music icon, Actor and Producer Amrinder Gill.

Award winning Canadian film company Rhythm Boyz known for blockbuster Punjabi hits like Jodi (Diljit Dosanjh), Angrez, Love Punjab, Chad Mere Putt acquires the overseas distribution rights of BHAGWAN BHAROSE for North America, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Rhythm Boyz will be releasing the film in these markets on October 13, 2023.

Amrinder Gill, actor, singer, producer and co-founder of Rhythm Boyz says, “Bhagwan Bharose is a beautiful story about two kids whose ideas about faith, religion, education and the world in general are questioned and put to test. It is funny, it is innocent, it is important and it leaves you with a heavy heart and a lot to think about. Award-winning producer turned filmmaker and founder of Platoon One Films, Shiladitya says, “This collaboration is a dream come true. Introducing two talented young finds Satendra Soni and Sparsh Suman, the film features a stellar ensemble cast led by acclaimed actors Vinay Pathak, Masumeh Makhija, Manurishi Chaddha, Shrikant Verma (Panchayat, Dum Laga Ke Haisha). The film features original music by cult Indian rock band Indian Ocean (Black Friday, Gulaal, Masaan) with lyrics by Sanjeev Sharma (Peepli Live).

Produced by Sri Lankan Auteur filmmaker Prasanna Vithanage along with Platoon One Films, Lighthouse Innoventures and Sri Sathya Sai Arts, the Hindi film is a tender coming-of-age drama, based on a story by Sudhakar Neelmani. Bhagwan Bharose is a story about two young, impressionable kids whose ideas about faith are constantly questioned and changed as their little world expands and takes into its fold, their country’s fast-changing socio-political landscape.

The film will have a worldwide theatrical release on October 13, 2023.
