It was a good start at the box office for Crakk as 4.07 crore came in. The massy film was bound to start better in the B and C centers, but then cinema Lover’s Day offer of Rs. 99 tickets meant that even at the multiplexes, there were full houses for quite a few shows, and that further pushed the collections.

With regular ticket rates, the film would have opened at around 3 crore mark, which would have been a par score, but the extra crore which has come in has ensured that the footfalls have been larger in number, and as a result, more word of mouth too.

That’s what makes the rest of the weekend quite interesting because it will now come down to what audiences have to say about Crakk. A start has certainly happened, and an increase in numbers from here will certainly set the film starring Vidyut Jammwal, Arjun Rampal, Nora Fatehi & Amy Jackson on good ground.

Ideally, the action entertainer would be looking at a weekend score of around 15 crore, and for that, there needs to be at least a bit of an increment in numbers today. Even otherwise, masses do start stepping over the weekend and especially Sunday, and hence, a much clearer idea would emerge by tomorrow.

The film does have competition around it in the form of Article 370, which is for the class audience but could well find an audience amongst the masses as well.

On the other hand, there is also Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya playing, though that’s a core multiplex movie and is now having restricted showcasing. Crakk does have a good number of screens and shows for itself, and that gives it a good enough platform to keep consolidating based on the word of mouth that emerges.
