Article 370 is continuing its remarkable run at the box office. After a fantastic first week, it had a very stable second week when collections stayed under the 2 crores mark each weekday. Thursday’s collections were 1.90 crores, which was an excellent way to close the second week. Such trending had ensured that on its third Friday too, the film would comfortably stay over 1 crore and even hit 1.25 crore despite the release of Shaitaan.

What happened was even better since 1.55 crores* came in instead. The partial holiday of Mahashivratri helped its cause as well, and as a result, around 25 lakhs at least were added to its total. This is good because it only lends further momentum to the Yami Gautam starrer, which is set to grow quite well today. As has been the case for the first and second weekends, Saturday jumps have been quite good for Article 370, which should also happen today.

In fact, the 2.50 crore mark should undoubtedly be reached today, and there is a chance of a few more lakhs coming in as well. Yes, Shaitaan is going great guns already, but Article 370 also has its set audiences. This means the film will add on top of the 63.46 crores* that it has gathered already. Another nationalistic film, Parmanu – The Story of Pokharan, had collected 65 crores in its lifetime. At the same time, Article 15, another movie based on The Constitution of India, had brought in 65.45 crores in its final run. Article 370 will cross both today.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
