Nearly a year after getting engaged, actress Nina Dobrev has ended her relationship with Olympic snowboarder Shaun White. According to reports, the breakup was a “mutual decision” made with “love and a deep respect for one another.” Their split officially brings an end to a romance that began in 2019 and grew into one of Hollywood’s most admired love stories.

As soon as the breakup news came out, fans quickly tried to find clues on what might have led the former couple to call it quits. They soon noticed a TikTok video that Nina had posted. The clip, which she shared on September 5, started making waves online due to its cryptic message about relationships. In the video, the Vampire Diaries star wore a black sweatshirt and lip-synced to an audio of two women talking about “fixing” a man.

The audio began with one voice saying, “How do you sleep at night knowing people don’t like you?” The second voice sarcastically replied, “With no underwear, in case they wanna kiss my a–.”

Then came the part that grabbed the most attention. “What’s your advice for women trying to fix their man?” the audio continued. “Listen, Bob the Builder, he’s got 10 other women trying to fix him too, and you all look like a damn construction crew,” Nina then lip-synced.

In no time, the video went viral, with many fans flooding the comments section with speculations that the post was aimed at Shaun White. Some even wondered if the snowboarder had been unfaithful to her. Notably, neither Nina nor Shaun has commented on the matter.

Meanwhile, the day Nina uploaded that video on TikTok, she also appeared on the red carpet of the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). She attended the premiere of Eternity sans Shaun White and without her 5-carat diamond engagement ring. In the pictures of the event, she was seen looking stunning in a black satin gown.
