The film is based on the life of famed social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule. Pratik Gandhi and Pratralekhaa play the leading roles in the film. While moviegoers are raving about the film, Rajkummar Rao has been all praise for His wife’s upcoming release.
Recently, Rajkummar Rao shared a picture of a billboard featuring a poster of Phule. The poster had Patralekaa and Pratik Gandhi decked up as the historical characters. Rajkummar Rao simply shared the picture with heart emojis. Earlier, Rajkummar also praised the song Saathi which was released recently. He reshared the song on his Instagram story and wrote, “Such a heartfelt song’.
Phule, directed by Ananth Mahadevan, was supposed to release on April 11, 2025. The film will now be released on April 25, 2025. Phule aims to emphasise the outstanding achievements of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule, two visionaries who fought for the rights of women and underprivileged people in nineteenth-century India. His efforts to provide education to all people, particularly women and the poor, make him an icon of social reform in Indian history. Pratik Gandhi plays Jyotirao Phule, while Patralekhaa portrays Savitribai Phule.
Pranay Chokshi, Jagdish Patel, Ritesh Kudecha, Anuya Chauhan Kudecha, Suunil Jaiin and Dr Raj Khaware make up the Phule producing team. The film, co-produced by Kranti Shanbhag and Kalapi Nagada, intends to take viewers on an exciting historical journey while also demonstrating an unwavering dedication to social justice. The trailer has already got a lot of attention and Phule is predicted to be one of the most important films of 2025.
Pratik Gandhi recently starred in the Netflix film Dhoom Dhaam opposite Yami Gautam. The film depicts Veer Poddar and Koyal Chaddha (played by Pratik and Yami), a mismatched pair who embark on an arranged marriage. Patralekhaa was recently seen in the Netflix series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, which also starred Vijay Varma, Pankaj Tripathi, Naseeruddin Shah, Dia Mirza and Arvind Swamy.
