Sunny Deol Roars in Half-Cringe, South-Driven Action Promo
Jaat Trailer review:
After Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is back with another action film, Jaat. The trailer for Jaat was launched today at an event in Mumbai. Sunny Deol was present for the event, along with the other male cast members from the film. Watch the Jaat trailer below.
The Jaat trailer portrays Randeep Hooda as an evil figure akin to Raavana, who has kept the entire village under his control. “No one can enter this Lanka,” says the character. “Bhagwan bhi iss Lanka me aane se darta hai,” and then Sunny Deol appears as Jaat with a grand entry to take charge.
It’s truly entertaining to see this man in action drama, especially when his character is fearless and larger-than-life. He roars and prevails in the trailer, no doubt, but wait. There is something that spoils the experience. The Jaat trailer contains some South-driven cringe moments that we typically see in mindless South masala entertainers.
GROUNDBREAKING: Kesari Chapter 2’s Teaser Strategy Leaves Fans Intrigued; What’s Behind the First 30 Seconds of Audio?
Randeep Hooda’s character is seen imitating Thalapathy Vijay’s dialogue from Thuppakki (2012), saying, “I am waiting.” You may recall this from Akshay Kumar’s Hindi remake of the same film, Holiday (2014). Additionally, some of the loud treatment doesn’t seem fitting here. The writer/director uses Sunny’s iconic “Dhai Kilo Ka Haath” towards the end unnecessarily, similar to how many directors have done for Ajay Devgn with that Singham tune and signature pose. Overall, it’s an action-packed trailer bolstered by Deol’s commanding presence, but it could have definitely been better.
Directed by Gopichandh Malineni, Jaat stars Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher and others. The film hits cinemas on April 10, 2025.
