It was recently announced that Deepika Padukone has joined hands with Atlee for his next movie, AA22xA6. The film, which also stars Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, is touted to be an action-entertainer. However, do you know why Deepika Padukone decided to come on board for this movie?
If a report by Filmfare is to be believed, Deepika Padukone will be seen in a fierce avatar in this Atlee film. One of the reasons that the actress agreed to be a part of this project was because of the way her character has been etched and designed. Reportedly, Deepika will be seen playing a warrior queen in this movie. She is likely to commence prepping up for her part soon.

The video began with the actress discussing the script with Atlee before they got on the set and started preparing for the movie. In the caption of the clip, the makers described Deepika as a “queen” who is ready to “conquer”.
While early rumours hinted that the film might feature a two-hero storyline, Allu Arjun’s team recently clarified that the actor will be seen in dual roles, adding another intriguing layer to the film’s narrative. The film is set to go on floors in mid-2025, with a grand release planned for 2026.
It should also be noted that Deepika Padukone signed this movie after Sandeep Reddy Vanga removed her from Prabhas’ starrer Spirit. Reports suggest that her demands, including eight-hour workdays, a high salary, and a share in the film’s profits, did not sit well with director Vanga. Deepika, a new mother, is reportedly seeking to balance her work and personal life by reducing her working hours.
Besides Spirit, it is also being said that Deepika Padukone might be removed from Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2. Reportedly, since Deepika is “hellbent” on her working conditions, it is turning out to be a “big headache” to the makers. It is said that she is not willing to adjust her work schedule or other aspects related to her dates. It is for this reason that Nag Ashwin is planning to replace her in the movie. However, there is no official confirmation to this as of now.
