Veteran actress Jaya Parda Jailed For 6 Months, Fined 5000 Rupees: Know Why!

The Labor Government Insurance Corporation took this matter to court, which resulted in Jaya Prada and her associates being taken to the Egmore Magistrate Court in Chennai.

Reports suggest that Jaya Parda had admitted to the allegations and even offered to pay the owed money in an attempt to have the case dropped. But the court didn’t accept this and went ahead to give Jaya Prada a jail term of 6 months along with a fine.

Jaya Prada was a well-known actress, but she left her acting career in 1994 to join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and venture into politics. She became a Member of Parliament (MP) in the Rajya Sabha and later in the Lok Sabha. In 2019, she switched from TDP to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
