Super Dragon Ball Heroes’ Anime Is Going On A Hiatus

Super Dragon Ball Heroes has been running its special anime series for a long time now, and the anime team will reportedly go on a major break for the first time.
The Super Dragon Ball Heroes promotional anime, which has been running for an extended period, is about to undergo its first major hiatus. Commencing with the adaptation of the Prison Planet arc from the original arcade game a few years ago, this anime has continued to produce several arcs. Even the most recent one, the Meteor Mission, premiered in Japan. However, it’s now slated to take a temporary break. Following the release of Super Dragon Ball Heroes: Meteor Mission Episode 1, a notable shift occurred as it reportedly became the first episode in the series to be entirely computer-generated (CG).
Director Tadayoshi Yamamuro disclosed that the promotional anime staff will be taking a break while assuring that the special animated openings for the arcade game will continue. However, the duration of this hiatus has not been disclosed, reports Comic Book.
Talking about What’s in store for the future of Dragon Ball anime, although Super Dragon Ball Heroes is taking a break, fans can anticipate more Dragon Ball anime projects. In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Akira Toriyama’s original manga series debuting in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, a new anime titled Dragon Ball Daima is set to arrive in the Fall of 2024, reports Comic Book.
Dragon Ball Daima, a creation of Akira Toriyama, will reportedly bring forth a fresh storyline not previously featured in the manga or anime. The series will see Goku and the Z-Fighters transformed into children and is expected to take place prior to the events of Dragon Ball Super. This upcoming anime marks the first new Dragon Ball TV anime since the conclusion of Dragon Ball Super in 2018, promising to attract a substantial audience.
Super Dragon Ball Heroes is a Japanese original net animation and promotional anime series for Dragon Ball Heroes, a Japanese arcade and trading card game. The video game has been adapted to a Nintendo Switch port for Western audiences, whilst the card game is released under the name ‘Dragon Ball Super TCG’ and is combined with the other card game of the same name in Japan. The anime is not expected to be broadcast on TV. They have never been published officially in English.
Similar to Dragon Ball GT, it is a manga-inspired instalment of the Dragon Ball media franchise, created by Toei Animation instead of franchise creator Akira Toriyama. Its first episode reportedly premiered on July 1, 2018, and is currently available on selected OTT platforms.
