During his appearance on Koffee With Karan season 1, Sunny Deol had talked about the reason behind his wife Pooja Deol’s absence from limelight.
Sunny Deol has been in news ever since his comeback movie Gadar 2 did a phenomenal business at the box office in India. Apart from his professional life, Sunny often grabs headlines for his personal life. Sunny has been married to Pooja Deol for nearly 40 years now. However, he was previously linked with several actresses in the ’80s and the ’90s when he was a huge superstar in Hindi cinema. The actor is now all set to grace the new season of Karan Johar’s popular chat show Koffee With Karan, along with his brother Bobby Deol, this week.
Sunny will spill the beans on his equation with Bobby, blockbuster success of Gadar 2 and his patch-up with Rajkumar Santoshi. Ahead of the episode, we decided to take a look back at the season 1 which marked the Deol brothers’ debut on Koffee With Karan.
In that episode, Sunny had talked about why he avoided Bollywood parties and the reason behind his wife Pooja Deol’s absence from limelight. “I don’t drink. I’m a little shy guy. For me, after full day’s work I’d rather be somewhere I’m more relaxed. I’m an early riser and these parties go on till late at night,” Sunny had told Karan.
When asked if it was a conscious decision he had taken as one never saw his wife anywhere either, Sunny said, “We all are just individually like that. One would like to go out to a friend’s place or a more intimate gathering where you can chill out. You’re constantly shooting and in front of the camera. When you’re walking around, there are people staring at you. So there has to be some time where nobody’s looking at you. That’s the one reason I go abroad a lot whenever I get a chance because nobody bothers you there.”
