One of Bollywood’s most controversial legal cases is now making its way to the big screen. A new film titled Kaala Hiran is reportedly inspired by Salman Khan’s infamous 1998 blackbuck poaching case, which has remained in the public eye for decades.

According to multiple reports, the makers have already unveiled the film’s first-look poster, confirming that the project will explore the incident in a cinematic format. The film is being developed as a crime drama blended with a courtroom thriller, capturing the events surrounding the alleged hunting of blackbucks in Rajasthan’s Kankani village during the shoot of Hum Saath Saath Hain.

Producer Amit Jani revealed that the film will not only depict the hunting incident but also delve into Salman Khan’s arrest, the subsequent legal proceedings, and the intense courtroom drama that followed. The narrative is also expected to highlight the long-standing feud between the actor and gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, whose community considers blackbucks sacred.

Shot across multiple locations in Uttar Pradesh, including Sambhal and Moradabad, Kaala Hiran aims to present a dramatized yet detailed account of the case and its far-reaching impact.

For context, Salman Khan was convicted in 2018 by a Jodhpur court and sentenced to five years in jail for killing two blackbucks, while several co-accused actors were acquitted. He got the bail later.
