Television actress Rupali Ganguly has strongly reacted to the arrest of Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who has been accused of espionage for Pakistan. Malhotra was apprehended by Hisar police and booked under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Official Secrets Act, along with Section 152 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), for allegedly sharing classified information with Pakistani intelligence agencies.
Rupali took to her X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Such people do not even realise when their love for Pakistan turns into hatred for India. Initially they talk about ‘Aman Ki Aasha’ and ends up hating India. Don’t know how many such people are secretly working against the country, not a single one should be spared. #JyotiMalhotra.”
Jyoti Malhotra, a 33-year-old YouTuber behind the travel channel Travel with Jo, which has close to 4 lakh subscribers, reportedly visited Pakistan twice in 2023. During those visits, she met people named Ali Ehwan, Shakir, and Rana Shahbaz. As per the FIR, she saved their contacts under fake names like ‘Jatt Randhawa’ and stayed in touch with them through apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Snapchat to avoid getting caught.
Meanwhile, the investigation into YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra’s alleged spying for Pakistan has revealed new details. Reports say she visited Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir three months before the terror attack there in April.
Officials also believe she was honey-trapped by a man named Danish, who works at the Pakistani High Commission and is linked to Pakistan’s spy agency, ISI. Jyoti was arrested on charges of passing on sensitive information to the ISI. The revelations were made by Shesh Paul Vaid, former Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Is it a coincidence that u tuber Jyoti Malhotra who was honey trapped by Danish ,a Pakistani High Commission employee ( most probably ISI person) visited Pahalgam in January 2025? She was reportedly passing on sensitive information to ISI handlers,” (sic), he wrote on X.
