The Hera Pheri 3 drama has definitely left fans divided and disappointed, especially with the news of Paresh Rawal stepping away from the franchise. For many, Baburao is the heart of Hera Pheri, and imagining anyone else in that role is tough.

After fans started suggesting Pankaj Tripathi as a possible replacement, the actor responded with humility and honesty. According to Bollywood Hungama, he said –

“Somehow they feel I am the best man to play the character after the original (Paresh Rawal). But I haven’t been offered the role. And even if I did get the offer, I don’t think I would want to step into the iconic part. Log compare karenge kha-ma-kha. It would not be something I want.”

Pankaj further added, “I am flattered that fans feel I can fill those shoes. That character from Hera Pheri is iconic.”

It’s clear that even Pankaj Tripathi, a powerhouse performer himself, believes Baburao is too iconic to be recreated.

Paresh Rawal Returns Hera Pheri 3 Signing Amount Of 11 Lakhs With Interest, His Fee Was Set To Be 15 Crores

Paresh Rawal returned the ₹11 lakh signing amount, but he even added 15% interest along with a little extra. His original fee was set at ₹15 crore, but as per the agreement, he would’ve only received the remaining ₹14.89 crore a whole month after the film released, likely in 2026 or 2027.

“The film’s principal shoot was to commence sometime next year. This means that Hera Pheri 3 was unlikely to be released before late 2026 or in the year 2027. In short, Paresh would have had to wait for nearly two years to get the rest of his acting fees.”

That delay probably made him reconsider, especially with such a long wait for payment. Things got even messier when Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films, reportedly sent Paresh a notice asking for ₹25 crore in damages for allegedly causing issues for Hera Pheri 3.
