Rajshri Productions had cast him as the hero of the project, but the actor fell sick after being signed on for the film and had to be replaced. Faraaz was the son of Bollywood actor Yusuf Khan, who had worked with superstars like Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra in the 1970s and 1980s.
