Lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry Deactivates X Account After Trolling Over Guntur Kaaram Song

Guntur Kaaram is slated to release in Sankranthi 2024.

Ramajogayya addressed the trolling on X (formerly known as Twitter) in a long threaded tweet before leaving the platform.

Trivikram Srinivas’ directorial Guntur Kaaram is among the most anticipated Telugu films, which features Mahesh Babu and Sreeleela in the lead. It generated a huge buzz among the audience. The film has promised to showcase Mahesh Babu in a compelling, massive role. Now, it has come to the fore that netizens have been trolling Guntur Kaaram’s new song, Oh My Baby. They alleged that the music director Thaman S has used conventional tunes in the song. The disappointed fans have extensively trolled the music composer, as well as lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry. Some users were polite with their feedback, while others went over the top with their criticism. This did not go well with Ramajogayya Sastry.

On Thursday evening, he addressed the trolling on X (formerly known as Twitter) in a long threaded tweet. In his tweet, Ramajogayya Sastry wrote, “Social media is going to dogs. People who don’t know a thing about the process, think they can comment and judge … with all the intentions of spreading hate … targeting technicians … NO … NOT at all good (sic).”

He continued in the next thread and said that everyone feels entitled to talk and throw stones, but there is a manner in which feedback must be given. “What was missing in the song? We love our work more than you do, don’t talk loosely,” he added.

Netizens didn’t stop there, they again trolled the song. Some users said that the lyrics of the song were bad as always, while someone else said that the lyrics of Dum Masala were much better than this. Another user also called out the trolls for being so harsh on the lyricist and said that he is not completely at fault, as it was approved by the actor and director. After the trolling increased, Ramajogayya Sastry deactivated his social media account.

Guntur Kaaram is dubbed as a family entertainer with a pan-India appeal. The film also features Sunil, Ramya Krishnan, Prakash Raj, Jagapathi Babu, and Ashish Vidyarthi. The post-theatrical digital rights have been secured by Netflix. The film is now slated for its silver screen release in Sankranthi 2024.
