Kalapuram Movie Review

Merits: Satya Rajesh did his aspiring director role sincerely. The indepth struggle in his character is showcased nicely by Rajesh.

Other artists such as Sanchitha Poonacha, Kaashima Rafi, Praveen Yandamuri among others are fine in their padding roles. Film critics turned actirs Aripirala Satyaprasad and Kumar in okay in extended cameo roles.

Demerits: Lack of proper actors is a major demerit for the film. Except for Satya Rajesh and Chitra Seenu, the film had most of the new faces due to which the proceedings fail to create an impact.

Adding to it, Karun Kumar’s taking and low-grade presentation will continue to divert the attention of the audience throughout. A free advice is that if Karuna Kumar is seeing a long career in the movie industry, he should stop doing this kind of films and focus on exploring various genres.

Technical Crew: Looks like director Karuna Kumar is running out of proper scripts as Kalapuram has nothing new in terms of story and remains us of RGV’s Katha Screenplay Darsakatvam Appalaraju. Narration wise, the film has a flat proceedings without any twists and turns.

Editing by SB Raju Talari is alright. The cinematography work is apt for the film proceedings. Music by Mani Sharma fails to register. While the songs are forgettable, the background score is also unengaging.

Production values for this low budget movie are okay.

Verdict: To wrap up, Kalapuram is a cinematic drama that lacks an emotional connectivity. Though Satyam Rajesh did his part decently, the unengaging execution and lack of proper scene order irritates the audience.
