Set in the heart of Uttarakhand, ‘Jaan Abhi Baaki Hai’ is a musical journey of love, transformation, and purpose. Starring Makrand Deshpande and Brijendra Kala, the film hits theatres on August 1.
The trailer of Jaan Abhi Baaki Hai, an evocative new musical drama featuring acclaimed actors Makrand Deshpande and Brijendra Kala, was unveiled today ahead of its theatrical release on August 1. Directed by Satyajeet and produced by IJM Productions, the film promises a poetic blend of love, nature, music, and social consciousness.
Shot over 100 days in the breathtaking wilderness of Uttarakhand, the film uses the raw beauty of the Himalayas not just as a setting, but as an emotional and spiritual companion to the story. The narrative follows a young man’s passionate love for a tourist girl, a relationship that gradually evolves into a journey of self-realization and social awakening.
Speaking about the film, Makrand Deshpande said, “It’s a love story, but a different and extraordinary one. It explores the boundaries of love while merging science and spirituality. Director Satyajeet is deeply intelligent—he knows exactly what he wants to create. And since this is a love story, the music, I feel, carries a deep sense of love.”
Brijendra Kala, who remains tight-lipped about his role, shared, “It was a great experience. I always enjoy shooting in Uttarakhand—nature, cold weather, everything about it. The film is fresh and different. I’m sure people will love the characters and the story.”
The film’s soulful soundtrack is one of its major highlights, with music composed by Mahesh Matkar and distributed by Sony Music India. An impressive lineup of India’s top playback singers have lent their voices to the project, including Jubin Nautiyal, Asees Kaur, Palak Muchhal, Yasser Desai, Javed Ali, Harshdeep Kaur, Raj Barman, Nikhita Gandhi, and Salman Ali, among others.
Also starring Pranjal Shandilya, Swapnil Singh, Rajesh Jais, Rohit Pathak, and the late Bikramjeet Kanwarpal, Jaan Abhi Baaki Hai promises to be a cinematic journey that fuses heart, soul, and melody into a story that resonates long after the credits roll.
The film will hit theatres nationwide on August 1, 2025, and is distributed by P Square Media.
