Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu OTT release on Amazon Prime Video may be delayed as Rajinikanth’s Coolie gears up for its August 14 theatrical release.
Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu was expected to start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from August 15, but with Rajinikanth’s Coolie releasing in theatres a day earlier, the OTT debut may now be pushed to August 21 or 28.
The Pawan Kalyan-starrer Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which released in theatres on July 24, 2025, failed to make a mark at the box office. While fans were expecting its quick arrival on streaming, the film’s OTT debut may now be delayed.
According to a report by One India, the historical action drama was slated to stream on Amazon Prime Video from August 15. However, with Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated Coolie creating massive buzz ahead of its August 14 theatrical release, the platform is reportedly considering postponing Hari Hara Veera Mallu’s premiere. The new potential streaming dates being discussed are August 21 or August 28, 2025.
A Tale of an Outlaw and a Diamond
Hari Hara Veera Mallu follows the story of Veera Mallu, an outlaw with shades of Robin Hood. Initially working for the King of Kollur, Veera’s courage catches the attention of Qutub Shah, who entrusts him with a daring mission — to steal the legendary Koh-i-Noor diamond from Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
The film offers an alternative historical twist, intertwining the diamond’s heist with Veera Mallu’s personal vendetta. The narrative explores whether he will succeed in his mission and the emotional burdens he carries.
The movie stars Pawan Kalyan in the titular role, with Bobby Deol playing the antagonist. The ensemble cast also features Nidhhi Agerwal, Sathyaraj, Vikramjeet Virk, Ayyappa P Sharma, Dalip Tahil, Sachin Khedekar, Raghu Babu, and others.
The Coolie Factor
The possible postponement is largely due to the release of Rajinikanth’s Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The Tamil-language action thriller sees Rajinikanth as Deva, a former daily-wage worker with a dark past who has been living in the shadows for over three decades.
When his friend Rajasekar lands in danger, Deva resurfaces to seek revenge, unearthing secrets about a deadly bio-chemical weapon. The star-studded cast includes Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, Aamir Khan, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Reba Monica John, and Rachita Ram.
With Coolie poised for a massive opening on August 14, 2025, Amazon Prime Video might hold off on releasing Hari Hara Veera Mallu to avoid splitting audience attention — making a late-August OTT debut more likely.
