“I’m Not An Unnecessary Spender” Says Kajol, Splurges On Travel
EXCLUSIVE: “I’m Not An Unnecessary Spender” Says Kajol, But Here’s What She Splurges On
In an exclusive conversation with Instant Bollywood, when asked about her relationship with money and why we don’t see her splurging like many others in the limelight, Kajol had the perfect response.
EXCLUSIVE: “My Splurging Is About My Travel” – Kajol
“It’s not that you haven’t seen me splurge, it’s just that you haven’t seen me splurge the way you want me to. The way you see other people do it. If something holds meaning in your life, and you spend on that, then that’s the biggest thing.”
That’s a pretty solid answer. Simple and honest, just like Kajol. She isn’t about flashy designer bags or posting luxury hauls online. Instead, she chooses to spend on what brings her true joy.
So, what does she actually love spending on? Travel tops her list.
“My splurging is about my travel. I love to travel. I like to spend on that. I like to spend where I find the most pleasure. I love food. I love living well. I love traveling well. If you look at these things – then yes, I do spend as much as I need to.”
Kajol’s version of luxury isn’t about showing off. It’s about collecting moments, not things. Whether it’s exploring new cuisines, experiencing different cultures, or just enjoying a beautiful place with her family, that’s where her heart lies.

And just to clear things up, she made her stance on unnecessary spending very clear.
“But no, I’m not an unnecessary spender. I’m not and I never will be either. I don’t think it’s necessary. If it’s not needed in life, then why should I do it?”
It’s refreshing to hear a celebrity say that. In a world where social media often pushes people toward over-the-top lifestyles, Kajol chooses to live on her own terms, smartly and meaningfully.
Kajol’s Must-Visit Travel Destination Suggestion – Rishikesh

When the conversation turned to travel suggestions, she didn’t immediately jump to foreign destinations. Instead, she recommended a gem within India.
“I think in our own country, there are so many things to do. There are so many places. I feel everyone should go to Rishikesh. I love the vibe and energy in Rishikesh, you feel a lot of people have meditated here. There’s a vibe to the mountains when you reach Rishikesh that is amazing.”
A lovely reminder that living well doesn’t always mean spending big. Sometimes, it means knowing what makes you happy and choosing to invest in that. For Kajol, it’s all about meaningful travel, good food, and living with intention.
