He Once Shared Screen With Akshay Kumar And Ajith, Now He Works As Security Guard 12 Hours A Day

Breaking into the film industry is no easy feat, but sustaining a career and securing regular work is an even greater challenge. Many artists who have featured in major films still end up forgotten. One such example is an actor who appeared in both Akshay Kumar’s Patiala House (2011) and Ajith’s Arrambam (2013). In Arrambam, he portrayed a villain who ultimately becomes a henchman in a terrorist gang. Tragically, his dire circumstances forced him to work as a security guard.

The actor in question is Savi Sidhu, originally from Lucknow. He studied law and pursued theatre during his academic years before transitioning into modelling. Motivated by his dream of becoming an actor, he moved to Mumbai.

Savi Sidhu made his Bollywood debut in 1995 with the film Taaqat which featured Dharmendra and Shatrughan Sinha.. He caught the attention of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who cast him in Paanch, a film that, unfortunately, never saw a release.

He later played Commissioner A.S. in Black Friday (2004), and the elder brother of Samra and Dileep in Gulaal (2009). His other film credits include D-Day (2013) and Nautanki Saala (2013).

Savi also appeared in Bewakoofiyaan (2014), and Maska (2020). Despite working alongside some of the industry’s biggest names, he was largely cast in supporting roles.

After Bewakoofiyaan, Savi Sidhu gradually faded from the spotlight and began to face financial hardship. In 2019, he was spotted working as a security guard at a residential complex in Lokhandwala, a revelation that took many by surprise. In an emotional interview, he shared that he had lost his wife, parents, and mother-in-law within a short period, leaving him completely alone.

As everything around him began to collapse, he was left with no choice but to take up work as a security guard, enduring 12-hour shifts just to make ends meet.

Shortly after his interview was released, several prominent figures from the industry—including actor Rajkumar Rao, singer Mika Singh, and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap—reportedly extended their support to him. Despite the outpouring of encouragement from the film fraternity, nearly five years have passed, and Savi Sidhu is yet to make his much-anticipated return to the silver screen.
