The race for the highest footfalls in Hindi cinema since 1990 has always been a fascinating indicator of a film’s real reach among audiences. Leading the list comfortably is Hum Aapke Hain Koun with a massive 7.39 crore footfalls, a record that still feels untouchable. It is followed by Baahubali 2 The Conclusion (Hindi) with 5.25 crore and Gadar Ek Prem Katha with 5.05 crore, both representing historic box office phenomena.

The evergreen Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge stands strong at 4.79 crore, while Raja Hindustani has 4.09 crore footfalls. In recent times, Pushpa 2 The Rule has made a huge impact with 3.90 crore, showing the growing pan-India appeal of mass entertainers.

Now, all eyes are on Dhurandhar 2, which currently stands at 3.80-3.82 crore footfalls and is still running in theatres. The film is expected to surpass Pushpa 2 and secure the 6th spot by the end of its run, which would be a remarkable achievement. However, going beyond that seems unlikely given the gap with the films above.

Further down the list are Border (3.70 crore), Dangal (3.69 crore), and the original Dhurandhar with 3.56 crore. With Dhurandhar: The Revenge still performing steadily, its climb to the 6th position looks achievable. It may not break into the top five, but its strong theatrical pull clearly proves its popularity among the masses.
