Millions of fans were left heartbroken when Hugh Jackman hung his Wolverine craws after the release of Logan in 2017. However, the resurrection of his character for the upcoming release of Deadpool & Wolverine has sparked a moment of celebration. While fans eagerly await their favourite superhero’s return to the big screen, it wasn’t an easy journey for Hugh Jackman to transform back into the character. Can you guess what the toughest part was? Surprisingly, it wasn’t the physical training—it was the diet.

Ahead of the much-anticipated release of Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman sat down for a conversation with People Magazine. Sharing some insights about his training days, the Logan actor confessed, “When I came back to it, it was really fun, and I was thrilled. My body was a little sore at the beginning, but I was thrilled that my body was still responding. And I realized how good it is for your brain. But the hardest bit… the food.”

The actor also mentioned having difficulties while trying to keep up with his 5-meal-a-day diet. He continued, “I have to eat a lot. For me, for my body type, I’m naturally skinny. To get the size on, that’s the hardest bit. That’s the bit that does my head in.”

Meanwhile, Hugh Jackman and his Deadpool & Wolverine co-star Ryan Reynolds have been friends for 17 years. Their camaraderie, evident on-screen and off-screen, is a testament to their bond. In the same interview, the Free Guy actor heaped praises on Jackman for his impressive work throughout the filming of the upcoming movie.

Recalling an anecdote from the shoot days, Reynolds shared that he was scared and assumed that he would be dead when Jackman ran towards him in a scene with “150 Australian miles per hour.” He added, “And I will never forget that. And thank God I’m in a mask because under the mask, my face is going, ‘Oh God!’”

Meanwhile, Deadpool & Wolverine is slated to hit the theatres on July 26, 2024.
