Tom Holland-Zendaya’s kissing scene in Spider-Man Brand New Day removed:
The upcoming Hollywood biggie Spider-Man Brand New Day has received its certification from the Central Board of Film Certification(CBFC) in India, but not without a few cuts. The film has been passed with a U/A 13+ certificate, allowing it to be viewed by a wide audience with parental guidance for younger viewers. However, the board suggested certain modifications before granting approval, confirmed a report by BollyHungama.
One of the key changes includes the removal of a kissing scene between Tom Holland and Zendaya. The scene, which reportedly featured an 8-second lip-lock, has been completely deleted as per CBFC guidelines. Apart from this, the board also instructed the makers to mute and remove certain ‘obscene’ words. These edits were made at three different points in the film—one instance in the first half and two in the post-interval portion. The changes apply to both the audio and subtitles.

After implementing these modifications, the studio was issued the censor certificate on July 23. With these revisions in place, the film is now cleared for theatrical release across India.
As per the official certification details, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has a runtime of 144.52 minutes. This translates to a total duration of 2 hours, 24 minutes, and 52 seconds, making it a fairly standard length for a big-budget superhero film.
Despite the minor cuts, the film continues to generate strong buzz among fans, especially due to the popular on-screen pairing of Tom Holland and Zendaya. It remains to be seen how audiences respond to the final version on the big screen. The film is riding high on pre-release buzz and is set for a massive start in India, US and overseas markets.
