Bhooth Bangla blends horror and comedy across its 2.45-hour narrative, with the first half leaning towards humour, while the post-interval portions delve into a darker past. The humour works, although a few sequences may come across as slightly naughty… It’s the eerie atmosphere that forms the backbone, while the attention-grabbing VFX enhances the film’s visual appeal. An entertainer that works for most parts… The AkshayKumar – Priyadarshan combo doesn’t disappoint – the chills and chuckles are in equal measure.

You walk in expecting a rollercoaster. You get a slow, creaky haunted house ride that stops way too often and not in a fun, jump-scare way! If only this bangla had fewer bhooths and a lot more brains.

And in a time where everyone is chasing trends, this film just sticks to good old storytelling and wins. The casting of Akshay Kumar returning to a Priyadarshan “haunted palace” setup—especially with the Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav trinity—is basically the cinematic equivalent of a warm hug for fans of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which is why you cannot miss this one.
