The much-anticipated sequel to the 2019 romantic comedy Pati Patni Aur Woh is reportedly in the works. And it is coming with new casting. According to reports, Ayushmann Khurrana has replaced Kartik Aaryan and will headline the film. Joining him in this fresh new take on the love triangle are Sara Ali Khan and Wamiqa Gabbi. However, an official confirmation is still awaited.
Peeping Moon has mentioned sources saying that the makers were looking for fresh romantic pairings with proven comic timing and found the triangular dynamic of Ayushmann-Wamiqa-Sara perfect. They take on the roles originally played by Kartik, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday, respectively, in the 2019 hit film.
Earlier, Pinkvilla reported that Sara Ali Khan has signed on for this front-footed comic caper with Ayushmann Khurrana. “Sara and Ayushmann is a fresh combo in the comic space, and the actress fits the T for the character’s brief. She heard the script, and it was an instant yes from her side for the film,” revealed a source. The source further confirmed that the film will be directed by Mudassar Aziz, who is known for Happy Bhaag Jayegi, Pati Patni Aur Woh and Khel Khel Mein.

Ayushmann Khurrana is currently busy with Thama, a horror comedy, with Rrashmika Mandanna. It is releasing on Diwali this year. While Sara is currently busy with the promotions of Metro Inn Dino with Aditya Roy Kapur.
And Wamiqa Gabbi was last seen in Bhool Chuk Maaf with Rajkummar Rao. The romantic comedy performed well at the box office.
