Amitabh Bachchan shared a cryptic post hours after former Pakistani cricketer Abdul Razzaq apologised to Aishwarya Rai for his comments. For the unversed, Abdul Razzaq was commenting on Pakistan cricket team’s peformance in the 2023 World Cup when brought up Aishwarya Rai’s name. The comment did not go down well and Razzaq was slammed by many. The former cricketer has apologised since. While Aishwarya is yet to react to the comment, Big B shared a cryptic tweet since the incident.

Taking to X, previously known as Twitter, Amitabh Bachchan shared a post featuring the folded hands emoji and wrote, “.. for this has more meaning than any printed word .. इसका अर्थ छपे हुए काग़ज़ पर लिखित शब्दों से कहीं ज़्यादा.” While the post is cryptic, it is unclear if it in regard to the events that played out with Razzaq.

The controversy with Razzaq began on Tuesday when he said at a press conference, “We don’t really intend to improve and develop the players, in my opinion. It is like if you think you will marry Aishwarya (Rai) and have a good-natured and moral child. It will never happen like that. First, you will have to fix your intentions.”

The comment drew to a massive criticism, with many accusing him of disrespecting Aishwarya Rai. Former cricketer Mohammad Yousaf also slammed the Razzaq for his comment. On Wednesday morning, the Pakistani cricketer appeared on on SAMAA TV in which he apologised to Aishwarya. A video of the same was shared online.

“Yesterday, we were talking about cricket coaching and intentions. I had a slip of tongue and mistakenly took Aishwarya Rai’s name. I apologise to her personally. I did not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiment,” he said.
