Actress Ayesha Jhulka Demands Trial For Her Dog’s Murder, Moves High Court
The dog was allegedly strangled by the caretaker.
The actress filed a plea in the Bombay High Court over her dog’s alleged murder by her former caretaker.
Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar actress Ayesha Jhulka is moving to the Bombay High Court to seek justice for her murdered dog, Rocky. As per more reports, her dog was killed by her former caretaker in 2020.
In 2020, Ayesha Jhulka’s dog reportedly drowned, as told by her Lonavala bungalow caretaker. He claimed that the dog passed away after drowning in the water tank. The actress had her suspicions and sent the body for post-mortem.
As per the reports, the results revealed that the pet had died due to suffocation/strangling. Furthermore, the evidence did not indicate that it had been drowning, as claimed earlier. On September 17, 2020, Ayesha filed an FIR for the investigation of this matter. After a few days, the caretaker, Ram Nathu Andre, confessed to the authorities that he had strangled the dog in an intoxicated condition. The police arrested him on September 25. He was jailed. However, he was granted bail after two days.
On January 7, 2021, the Maval police filed a chargesheet in the case. Furthermore, the actress filed a complaint to the Directorate of Prosecution, Mumbai, complaining the public prosecutor is not taking the required steps to conduct a trial for the case. When the actress felt that nothing was being done, she went to the High Court. The plea, filed through advocate Harshad Garud, states that no trial has commenced for the case even after four years, as they are still waiting for the Magistrate Court to consider the chargesheet.
Reports further state that the actress filed for an intervention in the proceedings of the court in February 2021, which is yet to be heard by the magistrate court. Moreover, a bloodied bedsheet was sent to a Pune forensic lab, but could not get a hold of the report. Reportedly, Ayesha Jhulka’s legal team was told that no staff came to get the report.
