Overall, Nakhrewaalii may share some DNA with Dream Girl 2, but it has enough of its own quirks and comic moments to stand independently. It isn’t ambitious in its storytelling, and even tries to include a moral lesson. But with a likeable lead pair and funny moments, it largely serves its purpose.

For a film that promises a role reversal, Nakhrewaalii plays things rather safe. Its heart is in the right place, and the newcomers bring some freshness, but the humour rarely clicks and the romance lacks spark. Despite a few charming moments, it remains a missed opportunity.

Nakhrewaalii ultimately works best when it allows its silliness and social curiosity to occupy the same room without one strangling the other. Beneath the wigs, mistaken identities, amorous bosses, government-job obsession and romantic bedlam sits a young man who begins the film convinced that he already understands women and ends up discovering how embarrassingly incomplete that understanding was. Rahul Shanklya’s film may stumble when its comedy becomes louder than its romance and its message occasionally loses finesse, but its congenial ensemble, lived-in humour and the easy electricity between Ansh Duggal and Pragati Srivastava keep it afloat.

Ratings:2.5/5 Review By: Tanmayi Site: Times Now

Nakhrewaalii’s music is underwhelming. Its cinematography captures the more rustic and old side of India. Due to weak writing and an inability to gauge the audience’s sensibilities, Nakhrewaalii does not reach its peak. If you’re looking for a light-hearted romantic comedy, Nakhrewaalii doesn’t completely do justice to its genre. Instead of a theatre, this film would have found a better space on streaming.

Ratings:2/5 Review By: Hungama Site: Bollywood Hungama

On the whole, NAKHREWAALII is let down by weak writing, unconvincing character development, humour that works only intermittently and a second half that bears an uncanny resemblance to DREAM GIRL. At the box office, the film stands virtually no chance of making a mark due to negligible awareness and its release during the dull pre-Diwali period.

Nakhrewaalii has an interesting idea but fails to turn it into an entertaining romantic comedy. With predictable storytelling, weak humour and a screenplay that lacks freshness, the film struggles to leave an impression. It borrows from a familiar space without adding anything particularly memorable of its own. Overall, this love story needed more heart, humour and originality.
