If only the film didn’t wreathe itself in ear-shattering bgm, I would have liked it even more: why do even the most confidently-told films not trust its telling? The final part gives the sense of an ending, and a beginning.

Overall, Drishyam: The Conclusion has enough drama and nostalgia to keep the fans engaged. But for a franchise that built its reputation on making the impossible seem plausible, this one asks us to take a few too many things at face value. It has the ingredients of a satisfying finale, just not the trick to pull it off. The mystery may finally be over, but the magic of the first Drishyam remains hard to recreate.

At two-and-a-half hours, however, the film begins to drag towards the end and could have benefited from tighter editing. Still, its biggest strength remains its ability to keep you immersed and consistently anxious about what happens next. Unlike the previous instalments, this film is not a remake of a Malayalam original. Instead, it features an original Hindi script developed independently to give the Bollywood franchise a definitive finale.Drishyam 3 may not reinvent the game, but it knows exactly how to keep you playing.

The convenient solutions and the clues that the police somehow fail to notice do leave the screenplay with a few noticeable holes. But these flaws do not completely take away from the experience. ‘Drishyam The Conclusion’ is not as airtight as Vijay would have wanted it to be, but it retains the tension and intrigue, keeps the story moving, and gives the long-running game between Vijay and the law a satisfying conclusion.
