Prabhas’ cop action drama SPIRIT will be an adult-rated film, confirms Sandeep Reddy Vanga –

Spirit “A” Certificate Confirmed:

Prabhas’ much-awaited action drama Spirit is set to be an adult-rated film, with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga confirming that the movie will receive an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board. The filmmaker shared the update while attending the trailer launch event of a film on Wednesday.

Sandeep said that the A certificate should not come as a surprise, as Spirit is being designed as an intense and violent film. He also joked that no matter how hard the team tries, the Prabhas-starrer is likely to receive an A certificate. The confirmation has further increased curiosity around the film, especially since Vanga is known for making intense dramas with mature themes. His previous 3 movies: Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh and Animal, all 3 received an “A” certificate only, so it’s nothing you for Vanga.

Spirit features Prabhas as a police officer and marks his first collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga and Prabhakar Reddy Vanga. The project is currently scheduled to arrive in theatres on March 5, 2027.

The film has also been in the news because of its release schedule. Spirit is set to arrive around 37 days before SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra. When asked whether the gap between the two big releases would be enough, Vanga said that 37 days should be sufficient. He also acknowledged that Varanasi is the bigger film.

With Prabhas playing a cop and Vanga promising an intense, violent world, the A certification suggests that Spirit will be aimed strictly at adult audiences rather than being a family entertainer. The film is now among the most awaited Indian releases of 2027.
