Aziz also gently nudges, like in the 2019 film, towards how this is a society where Hindus and Muslims seamlessly blend together still, where a Pandey hangs together with a Khan and can ponder non-vegetarianism without a moral attack, and where an Abdul Mishra drops from the tongue effortlessly — not as fraught a relationship as they will have you believe.

Director Mudassar Aziz keeps things clean, simple and accessible. He does not attempt experimental storytelling or visual grandeur. The film knows exactly what it wants to be and sticks to it throughout.

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do isn’t a flawless film but then again, it never pretends to be one. The makers commit to the madness with enough conviction to make much of it oddly enjoyable. The film suffers from a vanilla first half. The situations are funny, and you feel like laughing out loud, but the unimpressive dialogue kills the fun. Thankfully, the movie redeems itself in the second half with a exceendlingly funny climax.At some point, you do remember Kartik Aaryan’s Pati Patni aur Woh, and miss it’s hilarious lines.
