Formulaic and Conditional, Yet Sweet and Full Of Love
RATING – 3/5*
With Love Review Movie Talkies:
Blending school nostalgia with first love is a solid combo if you ask me. Shala (2012) did a great job—something unachievable, I believe. Then came Ti Sadhya Kay Karte, which took the idea further, as two people confess their school-time love years later when they are happily married. No conditions, no strings—they simply want to acknowledge the past so they can feel better in the present and remain good friends in the future.
Now comes With Love, which blends these two themes and adds a crossover love story of its own, creating a very interesting narrative. It’s sweet, full of love, and packed with those childish moments you can enjoy without using much brainpower. Most importantly, it keeps you grinning. That smile on your face matters because it stays for almost an hour, and that is why I’d say this film is worth your watch. However, it is not as intelligent as it pretends to be.
Dhurandhar 2 Destroys Records On Sunday; Becomes First Bollywood Movie To Hit 100 Crore Nett –

The intellectual bonding and conversations are missing big time, and to be honest, the romantic genre has rarely succeeded with intellectual depth. With Love falls short here, and it feels like a natural limitation. It becomes too formulaic in its pursuit of a happy ending and predictable reconciliation, ensuring audiences leave satisfied rather than emotional. That works, but I believe, cinematically, happy endings make good, entertaining films, while tragically happy endings create classics.

With Love had the chance to aim higher but chooses the safer route. It succeeds, especially for its target audience—teenagers who may overlook its flaws. There’s also a tendency to overdo the typical elements, including unnecessary songs where they aren’t needed. Simplicity would have made the love feel more accessible. There’s no need to present it as a “smart” film. Beyond these issues, the film doesn’t go very wrong.

With Love Movie Review:
The performances buy all the actors are lovable. Abishan Jeevinth looks in a natural flow, Anaswara Rajan‘s cute face wins you instantly, and special mention to Kavya Anil’s adorable screen presence and expressions. The cinematography and editing are fine, and Madhan’s direction remains steady. Overall, a good watch for feel-good romantic movie lovers, but not a penny more than that.
